John Skeaff was born in Montreal but grew up in Toronto, attending the Model School. He lived just down the street from UTS, which he entered in 1910. After graduating, he worked for the Canadian National Railway and the Royal Bank, and was a member of Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. He was commissioned a lieutenant in the 92nd Highlanders and died of pneumonia in 1916. He is one of nine UTS boys who died in service to be buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. “They are alive for evermore.”
